Reason No 91

Oxen!  Instead of Draft Horse power, why not Oxen power!

 

Well... One Ox anyway. If the dairy cow I procure produces a male calf , the plan would be to castrate it and train it to plow.  AND it would keep the Mama company.

I attended a workshop at Garfield Farm Museum and they were explaining how oxen were used to plow and work the fields. I always thought they were bulls but no - they don't have the equipment so they are quite docile.
