Chore Board

Reason No 92

CHORE BOARD!  List the daily/weekly/monthly duties on the wall!

Well.. Not on the wall but on a white board with days of the week. The plan is to keep every thing that is required to be completed each day organized. Each week, as volunteers, new hires or even family members are assigned a chore on the farm, it is posted on a large white board and clearly outlines each job.

See my example below. I just love this. I think it could be really fun and people would feel more at ease if they know what to do. Especially when we welcome new volunteers or new hires. Have someone team up with them the first two, three times the task is completed.

It will take a little planning at first to implement but once the board got started, all sorts of activities could be added. I just got through Tuesday as this is just family and they would just be happy to get out to the farm and help out.

For instance, what if someone is a great cook? How would anyone know that unless they were tasked with making lunches for the group?

That's the big plan too. I want to highlight peoples skills and each day at the farm, breakfast and lunch are provided.

What if someone has a great way with the pigs? Or the chickens?

I found this green board on line. I guess it's a popular thing to do for your family. Hmm... I like it.
